The Paranormal Investigation

I'm preparing for one of the most challenging chapters for the book, the first paranormal investigation (Ghost hunt for the traditionalists) and this one; I'm doing it on my own. For subsequent investigations, I'll be teaming up with a professional paranormal group, but this time it's something I can handle and direct myself with the help of a few brave friends.

Background:

I'd been thinking about doing an investigation for a while and wondered where I was going to find somewhere close by to checkout and then I remembered that one of my old workplaces was very creepy and had a reputation of leaving people feeling uncomfortable. I did a bit of research and discovered that past and current employees especially those that had lived in the upstairs apartment had experienced on going paranormal activity. Fantastic, I had my first case!

Some of the creepy goings on included: hearing loud knocks and bangs from empty rooms, being slapped and poked while asleep, waking up to the feeling that someone was sitting was on your chest or pulling your feet, feeling very freaked out in certain parts of the building, not wanting to be left alone in the building after dark etc.

Already my pulse was racing as I was now planning to face my biggest fear and that’s the chance to experience paranormal activity first hand. It’s a delightful cocktail of excitement and fear and I realized I was actually feeling ‘alive’ for the first time in a long time. It’s the moment before you ride a rollercoaster or jump out of a plane, that heart in your throat feeling where you can’t talk, only swallow deeply and think ‘this is it’.

The investigation will consist of 3 people and various forms of equipment including:

·         iPhone for recording audio and any EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon)

·         Digital Cameras for taking flash photos.

·         EMF (electromagnetic field meter) for recording fluctuations in electromagnetic fields which can be created by discarnate people.

·         Video recorder

·         Torches

·         Clean undies

An aspect to doing investigations like this one is that it’s not passive, where you just observe what’s going on, you actually invite it to happen. By asking whatever is there to actually make it self-known be making a noise, moving an object, touching someone or interacting with the EMF reader. It provides real time proof that you’re dealing with something non physical in nature and you can then interact with it by asking questions etc.

It’s now only days away and I’m getting chills already.
